Rett’s been catching up on Supernatural, while Taylor can’t seem to catch a good nights sleep. What are some changes Taylor can possibly make at this point to finally get the rest he needs? And against all odds Rett found a house on his first time out and is moving in the next few weeks.
Finally, Taylor taps into Rett’s experience starting a business in Oregon.
Taylor and Rett discuss the brain in a vat theory. Rett shares his favorite Conan the Barbarian quote. They compare religion and science and jump into a bit of history and science.
Taylor has begun on the next 1GAM and developed some procedural generation. But is 1GAM align with his goals any more? Using Steamspy, Taylor has found that the indie dev dream is not far out of reach.
This week Rett saw Black Panther and relays his experience to Taylor. They gloss over the political nature of mass shootings. They discuss mass hysteria and history.
Then they dive into pursuing hobbies and subsistence level income generation and the mindset of “successful”people. Then they spend some time going over Taylor’s 1GAM entry, then they re-hash OMGJam3. AND MORE!
The second half of our discussion of Between the World and Me to mark Black History Month. This book is Ta-Nehisi Coates’s attempt at imparting a lifetime worth of contemplation, revelation, and experience to his adolescent son in the form of a deeply personal, emotional, and unflinching letter. Coates expertly weaves between personal experience, historical recollection, and journalism as he peels back the layers of being black in America.
And please join us in giving Danny a warm welcome into the folds as a new co-host of our show!

In this episode we discuss Hiroshima by John Hersey which follows the tragic events of August 6th, 1945 through the eyes of six survivors. It was published in The New Yorker in August 1946 and was put to print as a book shortly after, with a revision after John Hersey followed up with his survivors. It is a personal, moving, and sometimes horrific, peek into the very heart of an event that shook humanity and shaped the course of human history.
As a side note, keep an eye out for a special release in tandem with Black History Month, in which we read and discuss Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates. And our new co-host Danny will be joining us!
