Rett and Taylor discuss motivation and a break through they made this week. They worked on a World War II sidescroller game together and Taylor crushed some bricks making his very own brick breaker game. They talk about his experience streaming and bug hunting, as well as Rett’s love of Shadow of The Colossus and The Last Guardian, and Taylor’s love of Age of Empires.
Shoutout to rockzom, manbeardgames, and AuroraCaelestis for hanging out on stream!
Taylor challenged Rett to do an hour of Gamedev twice this week and Rett challenged Taylor to think of ways to use his pixel art in games.
Taylor and Rett celebrate RB Whitaker’s C# tutorial and book, the C# Players Guide. They finished their podcast music! (Which you’ve enjoyed since day one). And they talk about the work they did on their console game, including rehashing their player’s beginning stat allocation, ASCII art, and the creation of their “slow typer” function.
This week comes a two-parter, Kane and Rett are joined by podcaster extraordinaire, Bentley Michaels, from The 45th Parallel podcast and Thinking Thoughts podcast, available on iTunes and Stitcher.
The guys vet Bentley with their usual hypotheticals. Then talk about podcasting. Jump into Star Wars. Bentley dazzles them with his mastery of the mouth by doing fun voices (and other things *wink*). They talk about stand-up comedy, and make a lot of dick sucking jokes.
To see more Bentley Michaels visit his website bentleymichaels.com and make sure to listen to his other podcasts.
This week Kane and Rett discuss Steve Zahn, and honorary diplomas as well as honorific titles. They discuss Jodie Foster, and other female actors. Then the talk takes a turn to how things are presented in movies, like ballet in Black Swan, or drumming in the movie Whiplash.
Then they close out by talking about their old band, The Monster Addict.
Enjoy the new year with this very special episode of Duel of Taints in which Kane and Rett read the possibly-too-serious, maybe controversial, real life questions sent in by our viewers. These questions were sent in by listeners who maybe didn’t understand what the guys talk about on the show.
But that doesn’t stop the guys from taking a swing at topics running the gamut from religion, schooling, censorship, the effect of video games on children, and euthanasia. But if that sounds too serious, don’t worry! Kane and Rett talk it over in usual Duel of Taints style.

This week on Duel of Taints, Kane and Rett discuss some of their favorite tunes and reminisce on bands and albums that inspired them to play in a metal band. They recall a song about a girl named Tiffany, and share another wonderful Monster Addict tale and discuss the song it inspired.
Look forward to a bonus episode of Duel of Taints coming soon.
