GAME DEV’S QUEST e36: TRIBAL TRIGGERS

Taylor and Rett dissect their entry for the One Mechanic Game Jam, or OMGJam, and discuss the things they learned about unity. Taylor’s been working on his One Game a Month entry and making some great progress on the Udemy unity course.

Other than game dev, they rip into some DnD, talk about the primal connections to music, horror, and comedy. They talk about drumming. And Rett shares some of his experience playing music in musicals.

GAME DEV’S QUEST e35: OMGAMESTORM

Taylor and Rett kick off the One-Mechanic-Game Jam number 2! What is the #OMGJam you ask? It is a game jam where you do your best to create a game that is played with only one mechanic in only a single weekend! The guys spend their time brainstorming for their own entry.

Taylor discuses challenging himself to attempt One Game a Month or #1GAM and holding himself accountable by streaming regularly. And Rett whines about the woes of having many bosses.

GAME DEV’s QUEST e27: IT’S THE WEIRD SHIT THAT FEELS THE BEST

This week on GDQ, Rett and Taylor rehash the work they did implementing┬áblack jack into┬átheir C# text adventure game. They realize that without Humble Bundle, Game Dev’s Quest would never have come into existence. Other topics include purchasing tickets to the Enjoy GameDev conference hosted by Gamkedo, finalizing travel details for Japan, ways to create VR apps, and shortening the 40 hour work week.

Taylor’s Challenge: Watch Midnight Diner, research C#┬ádelegates, events, and threading.
Team Challenge: Meet twice this week.
